Why project-based outsourcing

Focus on your business. We'll handle the development.

You don't manage individual developers or coordinate every task. Our team takes responsibility for executing your project against an agreed scope, timeline and delivery plan.

End-to-end project delivery

From initial requirements to deployment, we coordinate development, testing and delivery to keep your project moving forward.

Clear scope and milestones

Know what's being built, when key deliverables are expected, and how progress will be reviewed.

Access to technical expertise

Work with software engineers, designers, QA specialists and other technical professionals selected for your project requirements.

Less operational overhead

Spend less time recruiting, onboarding and coordinating individual developers, while keeping full visibility into progress.

Is it the right fit

When is project-based outsourcing the right fit?

It works best when you have a defined business objective and need a development partner to manage its technical execution.

Your business need

Business needs InApps Technology delivers as a project

  • Build a new software product

Turn your requirements into a functional application through structured development and delivery.

  • Develop an MVP

Validate your product concept with a focused development scope and a practical release plan.

  • Modernize existing software

Upgrade legacy applications, improve system architecture, or implement new capabilities.

  • Build a feature or integration

Deliver a defined module, functionality or system integration without expanding your internal team.

How the project is priced

What moves the price
  • Scope written down

A fixed price. One number, and we carry the estimate risk.

  • Scope still open

Two to three weeks of paid discovery, then a firm quote for the build.

  • Scope that keeps moving

A monthly rate instead: a dedicated team, or staff augmentation.

What you can check

How InApps Technology handles six common outsourcing traps.

  • A padded quote

Every line of our quote names the feature, the milestone and its price, so you can see what each part costs and question it.

How you can check: Read the quote line by line before you commit

  • Arguments over “done”

Each milestone has acceptance criteria written before the build. Done means the criteria pass, not a judgment call.

How you can check: Read the criteria in the statement of work

  • Change requests as a profit line

Anything new gets a written change request with its own price and date. Nothing starts until you approve it.

How you can check: Ask for a sample change request

  • Corners cut to protect the margin

Tests run on every commit, and an InApps QA engineer signs off each milestone against the criteria before you are asked to.

How you can check: Ask for the test report on any milestone

  • A junior team behind the quote

3% of applicants pass our vetting, and the team is named before you sign. You can interview every engineer.

How you can check: Interview the team before you sign

  • Locked in after launch

Code sits in your repository from the first commit. Documentation, a runbook and a handover walkthrough are part of the price.

How you can check: Ask to see a sample runbook

Our process

A clear process from requirements to release

01

Discovery and planning

We review your business objectives, technical requirements and project constraints to define a practical development approach.

02

Scope and delivery roadmap

We set out deliverables, milestones, responsibilities and an estimated timeline for your review and approval.

03

Design and development

We design, develop and test your software, with progress updates and chances to give feedback throughout.

04

Deployment and handover

We support the release and hand over the agreed documentation, source code and knowledge transfer to your team.

05

Ongoing support

If you need it, we keep maintaining, improving and extending your software after launch under a separate support arrangement.

How you stay in control

An outsourced project should never become a black box. Three things you can check at any point.

Work moves forward while you sleep

Ho Chi Minh City is UTC+7, 11 to 15 hours ahead of the continental US. We agree which meetings need a live overlap and shift the team's hours for those. The rest runs asynchronously.

Your code, your accounts, your IP

NDA before discovery. Access through your accounts, removed at handover. Code lands in your repository from the first commit, and the IP assignment is written into the contract rather than triggered by final payment. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified.

A change has a price before it has a cost

Anything outside the signed scope is written up as a change request: what it adds, what it costs and how it moves the date. Nothing starts until you approve it, and the price for the original scope stays where it was.

What a software project costs, and what moves the number

The five factors that determine the cost of an outsourced software project
DriverWhy it moves the number
How clearly the scope is writtenA brief with acceptance criteria prices in days. A brief with feature names prices in weeks, because someone has to turn it into criteria first.
How much design is still openExisting designs are cheap to build against. A blank page adds a designer and a few weeks before the build begins.
Integrations you don't controlYour own API is predictable. A partner's undocumented endpoint or a legacy database is not, and the price has to carry that risk.
What done has to surviveAn internal tool for fifty users and a public product under load look similar in code. The testing is not similar at all.
Who runs it after launchYour team taking it over means pricing the documentation and the walkthrough. Us running it is a separate support agreement.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about project-based outsourcing

Not sure your scope is ready?

Send the brief, however rough. We will tell you how to scope it, and whether it can be fixed-priced yet.

Discuss your project
What is project-based software outsourcing?
You hand a defined software project to an outside team, which runs it from requirements to release. At InApps Technology that covers requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing and deployment. We manage the development process and keep you involved in the key decisions, so you get the product to market without building an in-house team for it.
When is project-based outsourcing the right choice?
When you have a defined business objective and need a partner to run the technical execution: a new product, an MVP, the modernization of existing software, or a feature or integration with a clear boundary. When the roadmap will keep moving for months, a dedicated team is the better fit.
How is it different from a dedicated team or staff augmentation?
In a project, InApps Technology is accountable for an agreed result, scope and timeline. A dedicated team is capacity that works only on your product while you set the priorities. With staff augmentation, engineers join your own team and report to your engineering manager.
Do you work on a fixed price?
Yes, when the scope can be written as acceptance criteria. We quote it line by line and carry the estimate risk. If the scope is not ready, we suggest two to three weeks of paid discovery first, then a firm quote for the build.
How involved do I need to be?
You make the key decisions and approve the scope, the roadmap and each milestone. We run the day-to-day work. You do not manage individual developers.
How do you handle changes to the scope?
Anything outside the agreed scope is written up as a change request with what it adds, its price and how it moves the date. Nothing starts until you approve it.
How much does an outsourced software project cost?
It depends on five things: how clearly the scope is written, how much design is still open, the integrations involved, the quality bar, and who runs it after launch. You get a cost range after the first call, and a line-item estimate after scoping.
Who owns the code and the IP?
You do, from the first commit. The code lands in your repository under your organization, and the IP assignment is written into the contract rather than triggered by final payment. We sign your NDA before anything is shared.
What happens after launch?
We support the release and hand over the agreed documentation, source code and knowledge transfer to your team. If you want us to keep maintaining, improving and extending the software, that runs under a separate support arrangement.
How do you handle the time difference with the US?
Ho Chi Minh City is 11 to 15 hours ahead of the continental US, depending on the coast and the season. We agree which meetings need a live overlap and shift the team's hours for those, and keep the rest asynchronous.
How do you protect quality?
Every engineer passes our vetting, and you can interview them before they join. Each milestone is tested and signed off by a QA engineer against its acceptance criteria before it reaches you.
